Moby at Budapest Park
Electronic music pioneer Moby is returning to Hungary for the first time in 15 years. On 1 August, the influential artist will take to the stage at Budapest Park with a brand-new live show, bringing back the music that has shaped the sound of electronic music for more than three decades.

Salsa & bachata party
Dance the night away by the City Park lake at one of Budapest's most atmospheric open-air Latin dance events. Held every Friday throughout the summer at Nyereg Restaurant, the evening begins with an intermediate salsa musicality workshop before giving way to a salsa and bachata party featuring more than 10 guest dancers. With DJ Tombao behind the decks, a spacious outdoor dance floor and food and drinks available throughout the night, it's an ideal way to spend a summer evening, whether you're an experienced dancer or simply looking to soak up the atmosphere.

TILOS A KANYARBAN - Daytime Party in Nagymaros
Swap the city for the Danube Bend this Sunday as Tilos a Kanyarban brings Tilos Rádió's much-loved daytime fundraising series to Nagymaros. Split between the Nomád Bár and Zsigi Büfé, the event serves up everything from laid-back vinyl DJ sets to riverside dancing, with house, dub techno, breakbeat and electronic music provided exclusively by Tilos Rádió's DJs. Entry is free, while a suggested donation of HUF 1,000 helps support the independent radio station and keeps the music playing.

Budapest Play - Budapest Street Music Festival 2026
Launching for the first time this year, Budapest Play - Budapest Street Music Festival 2026 aims to become a new summer tradition. Organised by Sziget Festival and Budapest Park, the festival will see 50 - 60 street musicians perform at ten locations across the city following a selection process. Expect live music in spots including Deák Ferenc Square, Batthyány Square, Margaret Island and Keleti railway station on 30 - 31 July and 1, 6, 7 and 8 August.

Kombucha Workshop with Dinner at Mad Dog Hangár
On 11 August, Mad Dog Hangár invites guests to explore the world of fermentation at a hands-on workshop led by dietitian and chef Nikolett Csesznok. Participants will learn the fundamentals of brewing kombucha and water kefir, discover how starter cultures work, and pick up tips on flavouring and secondary fermentation. After the workshop, guests will enjoy a dinner centred around fermented ingredients, created by Bianka Geiger, founder of TREAT. At the end of the evening, everyone will take home their own homemade drinks, a starter culture and a selection of useful fermentation essentials.

Sziget Festival
Hungary's biggest music and cultural festival returns to Óbuda Island from 11 to 18 August, as Sziget Festival unveils the first wave of artists for its 32nd edition. The 2026 lineup already promises a standout year, with Twenty One Pilots, Florence + the Machine, Tomora, Lewis Capaldi and Sombr among the headliners, alongside performances by Underworld, Dijon, Tash Sultana, Dom Dolla and Biffy Clyro. The bill also features Ashnikko, Lambrini Girls, Bad Nerves and Giant Rooks, with more Hungarian acts still to come.

St Stephen's Day
Hungary's national holiday is one of the biggest events of the year, filling Budapest with celebrations from morning until late evening. Expect cultural programmes, family activities, food stalls, concerts, aerial displays and, of course, the spectacular fireworks over the Danube that draw hundreds of thousands of spectators every year.
Folkpark Dance House Festival 2026
On 21 August, Budapest Park will once again come alive with folk music and dancing as the Folkpark Táncház Festival returns for its fifth edition. Following the Bagossy Brothers Company concert Csillag az égen, which reimagines the band's songs through folk-inspired arrangements, the celebrations continue across three open-air dance floors beneath the stars. Live music throughout the evening will be provided by Sarjú Banda, Romano Drom and Zurgó Együttes, inviting everyone to join in the dancing. The festival is free to attend with a ticket to the day's Bagossy Brothers Company concert.

Makers' Market
On 23 August, Fény Street Market welcomes nearly 100 Hungarian designers and makers for a day dedicated to independent design and craftsmanship. Browse everything from ceramics, jewellery and fashion to prints, homeware and artisanal food, all while meeting the people behind the creations. With DJs Donnie Jep and Kisjankó providing the soundtrack and a dog-friendly atmosphere throughout the day, it's an ideal Sunday outing for anyone who loves supporting local creatives.

Bakáts Festival 2026
From 28 to 30 August, Bakáts Square once again becomes the cultural heart of Ferencváros as the 11th Bakáts Festival returns with three days of community celebrations. Visitors can look forward to a vibrant programme of exhibitions, performances, live music, workshops and family-friendly activities, alongside opportunities to discover the district's rich cultural heritage, local communities and creative spirit in one of Budapest's most atmospheric public squares.

Bartók Feszt' 2026
On 29 August, Bartók Feszt' returns to Bartók Béla Boulevard for a day of music, community and culture. This year's festival shines a light on the people, organisations and local initiatives that help keep the neighbourhood running, with more than 40 community groups and organisations hosting activities throughout the day. The line-up features performances by Csinszka, Wavy feat. Ábi, Co Lee, Egyedi, FRANKO, Indigo, Kebab, Kolibri, Orlando, BLUSTER and the Budimpešta Orkestar, while younger festivalgoers can enjoy concerts by Kiskalász and the Veronaki Trió. Alongside the live music, visitors can explore a selection of local food and drink, community programmes and family-friendly activities. Admission is free.

Generali Night Run 2026
On 29 August, the Generali Night Run returns for its 12th edition, giving runners the chance to explore Budapest after dark. Starting and finishing on the embankment outside Budapest University of Technology and Economics, participants can choose from four distances, with routes taking in landmarks including Széchenyi Chain Bridge, the Buda Castle Tunnel and Buda Castle. Along the way, music and visual installations add to the atmosphere. On 30 August, the event continues with a half marathon, which can also be completed as a relay. Registration is required in advance, with places limited to 5,000 participants.
