Budapest Beer Week 2026

Budapest Beer Week returns in 2026 between 4 - 10 May, with its main unlimited tasting sessions taking place on 8 - 9 May, followed by an encore day on 10 May at Dürer Kert. Around 45 breweries from around the world are expected, offering unlimited tastings between 2pm and 8pm, alongside live music, street food and a family- and dog-friendly atmosphere.

Taking place on 9 May, Secret Market returns in a unique setting at Széchenyi Bath, bringing together curated vintage pieces, jewellery, and design finds. Hello Piac

Budapest's beloved returns to Erzsébet tér on 9 May, bringing together a vibrant mix of Hungarian designers and makers for a one-day celebration of creativity. From handcrafted jewellery, clothing and accessories to gourmet treats, natural cosmetics and vintage-inspired home décor, the open-air fair offers a carefully curated selection of high-quality, locally made products - including creations by artisans with disabilities. The event runs from 11am to 6pm (rain date:16 May), inviting visitors to browse, connect and discover something truly special.

Budapest100 2026 

Budapest100 is an architectural and cultural festival - a celebration of communities and the city itself, bringing residents and neighbours closer together while drawing attention to the built heritage around us. Organised by KÉK - Hungarian Contemporary Architecture Centre, this year's programme returns to its roots after a decade by once again focusing on 100-year-old buildings. On 9 and 10 May, residential buildings and institutions built between 1916 and 1926 will open their doors to the public. As in previous years, the event will be accompanied by free walking tours and professional programmes.

Europe Day 2026

On 10 May, Szabadság tér comes alive again as Europe Day marks the 22nd anniversary of Hungary's EU accession with a full day of free programmes. One of the main highlights is the EU Half Marathon, but beyond sports, visitors can also enjoy concerts, family-friendly activities, EU-themed quizzes, and creative workshops. On the main stage, acts including Hiperkarma, Elefánt, and Budai Pop Duó will perform, while the children's stage features the Buborék Együttes, Majorka Színház, and a musical literary show by Dániel Varró.

Wine & Sparkling Festival at Szabadság tér

The Belvárosi Wine & Bubble Festival returns to Szabadság tér to open the summer season with a six-day open-air celebration in the heart of the city. Bringing together some of Hungary's top wineries and sparkling producers, the event pairs standout pours with quality street food and relaxed early-summer vibes - an easy choice for long weekend catch-ups, sunset glasses, and spontaneous toasts under the trees.

Returning on 22 May, Intermezzo Festival kicks off the summer season with a mix of underground concerts, contemporary installations, and workshops. Jazz and Wine Festival 2026

The Jazz and Wine Festival is taking place between 22 and 25 May at the Margitsziget Open-Air Theatre, where visitors can sample a curated selection of wines. The lineup includes internationally renowned singers Mario Biondi and Kurt Elling, alongside Hungarian performers such as the László Attila Fusion Circus, Budapest Ragtime Band, and Easy Jazz Band.

On 30-31 May, Erzsébet tér hosts Piacok Napja x Belvárosi Fesztivál, where several of Budapest's most popular community markets - including Hello Piac - come together for a lively weekend market. Visitors can browse design pieces, vintage finds, handmade goods, artisanal treats, and eco-friendly products, while discovering the work of local creators.
