Set up your laptops and prepare to Skype your loved ones this Thanksgiving – but do so with a full meal in front of you, too! Several top restaurants in Budapest are happy to deliver Thanksgiving to you this year, and we take a look at the best offers.

ÉS Bisztró
The
luxurious, five-star Kempinski Hotel in downtown Budapest is equally famous for
its delicious ÉS Bisztró, which employs top chefs and features a constantly
changing menu. Now that the coronavirus is forcing restaurants to shutter their
physical locations, ÉS is ready and waiting to deliver home-cooked meals
straight to your doorstep. This Thanksgiving, enjoy whole roast turkey served with gravy, apple
mousse, cranberry chutney, glazed carrots, Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes and
stuffing is all yours for 49,000 forints + 8,000 delivery fee, serving eight to ten people. Or
for 38,000 forints plus delivery, ask for the whole roast goose with red cabbage,
Brussels sprouts, potato dumplings and onion potatoes, serving four to six. Best
of all, both meals include their pumpkin cheese pie and a bottle of red or
white wine. The offer runs from 23 November until 26 December, and the bistro
asks that you place your order a minimum of 72 hours before the requested
delivery time.

AmCham Hungary Cooking Class
Want
to cook for yourself, but need a little help? Together with the Budapest
Marriott hotel, AmCham Hungary (the American Chamber of Commerce in Hungary), will be hosting three online cooking shows where hotel chef Dávid Gila will teach you how to make the most delicious Thanksgiving day meal.
There is one class to be held in English on 26 November – and the ingredients
are delivered right to your home.
Each
programme starts at 6pm and ends at 8pm. Register online to secure your spot in
the class! Participation is limited to 25 slots, although you can have multiple
people participating from the some location within each slot. The class costs
15,000 forints with proceeds benefiting the AmCham Foundation and SOS Children’s
Villages.

DNB
Budapest is offering a Thanksgiving meal plan for 6,500 forints per person. If you're ordering for four,
a free Hungarian sparkling wine will be included. Orders can be placed by Tuesday, 24 November, delivery costs 2,000 forints, or 4,500 for anywhere more than 4km away. Find more information

The
Four Seasons Gresham Palace is offering its own Thanksgiving menu this year for home
delivery, with the added convenience of pick-up options, with the ability to
pay by SZÉP card if picking up the order in person. Enjoy a 4-5kg roast turkey
