Art Cafe Muse

The Art Cafe Muse is a beautiful, homely establishment in the Palace District developed for artists, by artists. The guestbook has more drawings in it than written text, and the walls are adorned by the works of local artisans! Exposed brick complement the solid wooden tables, and plants and elegantly-draping lights complete the image. And we haven't even mentioned the coffee yet! While constructing the Art Cafe Muse, the founders paid extra attention to procuring the best equipment possible, and hiring the most knowledgeable baristas to ensure top quality for their drinks – and the work as paid off. If you haven't been yet, we encourage you to go grab a coffee and enjoy the art, the company and the atmosphere.

Want a coffee and need a new book? Massolit is the premiere second-hand English-language book shop in town, with every inch of wallspace devoted to bookshelves in all genres. Their hot drinks menu includes coffee, tea, chai lattes and hot chocolate, and there are milk alternatives available, as well.

The Flying Broomstick

The Flying Broomstick or Repülő Seprű is a hugely popular, Harry Potter-themed café up in Óbua. Candles hang from the ceiling via invisible string, the Sorting Hat awaits young pupils in the corner, and the walls are plastered in posters demanding attendees “HAVE YOU SEEN THIS WIZARD?” Look closely at the wall on Undesirables and you may notice that there’s more than just the film stars pictured here. That’s because regulars can send in their own grimacing visage to the Flying Broomstick and they’ll be added to the wall! Alongside coffee, visitors can also order a butterbeer, and Gryffindor robes are available to don at the door, to complete your wizard or witch experience. Make sure to register in advance, as the café sees high demand.

Cat Cafe

If you're looking for feline company, then the Cat Café is calling your name. Currently 15 cats call this cosy spot their home, located behind the Opera House. The bar displays drawings of each of the kitties, with their names underneath, so you can identify who is who. It is also possible to reserve a table, and due to the high popularity of the establishment, the owners recommend doing so a day ahead, if possible. Enjoy your coffee or tea surrounded by purring cats – the best way to spend an afternoon!
