Budapest100 is back for the fifth time. The increasingly popular event showcases some of Budapest's 100-year-old buildings through a variety of programs. This weekend many locals and tourists will spend the weekend visiting the famous houses and beautiful buildings of the capital, learning more about them, their inhabitants and their unique histories. Budapest100 awaits everybody with photo exhibitions, wine tasting, fashion shows, flea markets, brunches and a lot more. While there are plenty of programs, these are our top tips for what to check out. Be a part of it!

Nyúl Street 6.
József Romvári, a famous set decorator, used to live in the house on Nyúl Street, and as part of Budapest100 there are programs here all weekend. Be sure to visit one of the most beautiful villas of Buda!

Falk Miksa Street 3.
For Budapest100 special workshops, guided walks, a book exchange and fashion shows will be organised at this famous house, which was built in 1912 according to the architectural plans of Lajos Fehér. Between 12pm and 4pm guided walks start every hour.

The block (usually called Röser passage) consists of the buildings at Károly Boulevard 22 and Semmelweis Street 19 and still functions as a shopping passage.

Múzeum Boulevard 41.
The mansion facing the Hungarian National Museum was built in 1911-12 according to the architectural plans of Emil Ágoston. Its ground level is still inhabited by shops and restaurants. A deeper look into the history of the secession-style building reveals that a patisserie also functioned here, so it's not a surprise that sweet-toothed people will surely find something to their liking here.

Nagymező Street 3.
Thanks to the bistro that recently opened here, many have heard about the red brick building's history. The premodern building, that used to function as a printing and publishing house was renovated in 2012-13, so it practically looks like it did when the house was first finished.

Rákóczi Street 74.
This apartment building has an exciting story. In the 20s it was a popular mall, which later became the Hungarian Fashion Hall ('Magyar Divatcsarnok' in Hungarian) until 1956. In 1961 the building was functioning as Otthon Áruház ('Home Store' in English), its neon sign still can be seen from the street.

This house used to be suitable for even the richest tenants. It even had a garage and a separate room for drivers! Not to mention that every apartment was around 380 square meters big! If that's not luxurious, we don't know what is.

The well-known villa in the 9th District also opens its gates to visitors as a part of Budapest100.

Exhibition on the history of the building including photos, architectural drawings and particularities.
Discovery strolls through the building, guided by the architects of Minusplus. Walks every hour, at half past. Discover the hidden treasures of the building, followed by a “building quiz” - those answering correctly will be awarded small treats. “If the building could talk...” a lecture by Sándor Jeszenszky on the history of the building.
