Back to Mother nature! – Field trip on Sas (Eagle) Hill

On the Buda side, near BAH-csomópont, a real plant-reservation can be found that is also a perfect place to relax for city dwellers. The ever-shrinking nature reserve hides many special plants, even species from the ice-age, so we have to watch our steps once we’re up here. The 850 meter-long path can be visited with a guide and is made even more interesting by a permanent exhibition and the gorgeous view of the city. However, if somebody is planning to come up here to see eagles they will have to be disappointed, because the name of the hill comes form a silly mistranslation.

Price: 800HUF for adults, 500HUF for children.

Trip to the top of the city – To János Hill by Libegő

János Hill has the highest spot in Budapest and it’s also a great place for those who feel like hiking. The hill can be approached by Libegő, a floating-chair like contraption. This is good news for those who enjoy the resting part of the trips because in order to get to the top, you won’t have to do anything but sit for 12 minutes. From here it’s only a short time to get to the Elizabeth tower, located at 528 meters above the sea level. Up here, you can be in the out of the city, without ever really leaving it.

Price: Libegő ticket: 800HUF for adults, 500HUF for children
