Volkova Sisters
was formed four years ago by sound engineer and guitarist

, and guitarist-multi instrumentalist
Gergely Kovács
. Their aim was to give some space for all their ideas that did not fit into other musical projects. They started to work in their own studio, looking for a sound similar to the dark wave scene of the ‘80s – which they all like and respect. They mixed it with folk and shoegaze elements. They played a gig at SXWS festival in the spring of 2011 and it was followed by a miniature tour in California. The band moved to London at the end of 2013 and they play shows in the UK and Hungary ever since.
