The
New Orleans Swing Festival
takes place on the last weekend of August at the
Palace of Arts
(Müpa). On August 26th
Group&Swing
steps on stage with a truly spectacular show at
Fesztivál Színház
, and on the following day,
Papa Jazz
–
a band of Hungarian musicians fond of the New Orleans jazz

 performs together with
Scott Robinson
. On the closing day, the
Dixie Kings of Hungary
 – a local band playing swing and jazz – performs alongside a lively virtuoso showman,
Enrico Tomasso
.
On August 27th, the members of
Papa Jazz
invite an American jazz superstar as a special guest to their concert,
Scott Robinson,
who recorded albums with such artists as Ella Fitzgerald, Sting, Maria Schneider, Elton John, Joe Lovano, Ron Carter, and Bob Brookmeyer, while two out of these albums were even awarded a Grammy. In 2000, Robinson was named a "Jazz Ambassador" of the USA. The members of the
Dixie Kings of Hungary
met
Enrico Tomasso
for the first time at the 46h Breda Jazz Festival.
Tomasso
was only 7 years old when he played with Louis Armstrong, and after that they stayed friends until Armstrong's death. Besides traditional jazz and swing,
Tomasso
's musical language is also open to bebop, and even fusion, while his music can be heard on the records of Marc Almond and Brian Ferry. He also contributes to the concert held on August 28th as a singer, so guests can expect a truly spectacular show.
