Just like Müpa Budapest itself, the New Orleans Swing Festival is celebrating an important anniversary: this will be its 15th year of opening the season with a three-day event aimed at pleasing fans of traditional jazz. The schedule will feature singer Nikoletta Szőke, along with her guest duet partner Bálint Gájer, both accompanied by her regular rhythm section and the Dohnányi Orchestra Budafok, performing a special arrangement of familiar songs from Hollywood films. The next day will serve as an opportunity to wish a happy 35th birthday to the Bohém Ragtime Jazz Band at the Festival Theatre as they play hits from the golden age of jazz together with other singers and musicians, and joined on stage by dancers. On Sunday, Eszter Váczi will have a surprise in store for her followers when she takes the stage with Martin Breinschmid and the Austro-Hungarian group The Dream Makers, as it is rare for her to sing golden oldies from the early swing era.
