This year
Hanukkah
arrives on December 16. On each of the following eight nights one
candle
will be lit on the Hanukkah menorah, one more every night than the previous one. As the Jewish saying goes, “On Hanukkah and Purim, the poor become rich.” and “One must always grow in holy things.”

Loved ones give presents to each other, especially to children, and the whole family comes together on all nights of Hanukkah for dinner, games, conversation and programs signaling the arrival of Hanukkah.
