is a national holiday in Hungary, commemorating the
Hungarian Revolution
of 1948/49, and on this day celebrations will be held at various venues in Budapest. The program is the same every year: the raising of the Hungarian flag in Kossuth Square, commemorative celebrations outside the National Museum, various family-friendly programs at the Castle and the Hungarian Parliament can be visited free of charge.
