The House of Music Hungary’s latest temporary exhibition, LISTEN. – A Musical Journey Around the World, invites visitors on a remarkable sensory adventure. Through the music, rituals, and daily life of 30 countries, it tells the story of how people live, celebrate, and mourn across cultures. At the heart of the exhibition are documentary films by Garry Bassin and Tomoko Yamaguchi, captured over ten years in breathtaking locations—from Belize to India, from Crete to Patagonia—featuring more than one hundred performers.
The cinematic experience is enriched with immersive sound installations, authentic objects, and specially designed spaces that transport you deep into each culture’s everyday world. Alongside international artists, Hungarian musicians such as Márta Sebestyén, Félix Lajkó, and Parno Graszt also feature. LISTEN. is both an intimate and collective experience—different instruments, yet shared emotions—showing how music connects us all around the globe.
