Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo
is an all-male professional drag ballet troupe whose repertoire features the full palette of ballet and modern dance - classical and original pieces alike. The comedy in their performances is provided by the emphasising of weak points, accidents or the stressing of incongruous elements of serious dance. All the roles are danced by men, whose heavy bodies balance delicately en pointe in the role of swans, graceful girls, water sprites, Romantic princesses or Victorian ladies huddling together in fear. All this serves not to mock but rather only to strengthen the spirit of dance as an artistic form, and naturally to entertain the audience in the meantime. While planning to expand its repertoire in future, the ensemble intends to remain ever-faithful to the original goal of the "Trocks” to share the joy of dance with as many people as possible - as they have already done for over 40 years.
