Esteemed Chinese choreographer, Kenneth Tse has recently received the Hungarian Gold Cross of Merit for his work with Hungarian folk dance. Even though he doesn’t speak the language, Tse grew fond of the genre and founded dance groups in both Hong Kong and Taipei to pass on Hungary’s traditional moves. On July 26th, you can check the results on the stage at the Várkert Bazár. This performance will be the most important stop of their tour in the Carpathian Basin.

The Knack Cordial Folk Group, led by Tse, are made up of Japanese, Taiwanese and Malaysian professional dancers. The 18 couples will perform dances not only from Hungary, but also from Ukraine and Bulgaria. The show is followed by a participatory folk dance, táncház.
