Between 1 May 2026 and 28 February 2027, House of Music Hungary commemorates the 40th anniversary of Freddie Mercury and Queen’s legendary 1986 Budapest concert with a major temporary exhibition. Held at the former Népstadion, the concert was among the first large-scale stadium shows to arrive behind the Iron Curtain, becoming a symbol of freedom for an entire generation in Eastern Europe. Alongside the anniversary, the exhibition also pays tribute to what would have been Mercury’s 80th birthday, presenting hundreds of original objects - including stage outfits, furniture pieces and handwritten materials - as well as personal stories and memories across nine thematic spaces.
