On Sunday, 25 May, families are invited to enjoy a day of free festivities and culinary experiences at Buda Castle in honour of Children’s Day. The Főőrség Restaurant will serve up exquisite dishes, while the Budavári Riding Hall will host colourful children’s programmes, and the Csikós Courtyard will come alive with exciting demonstrations. The event is all about bringing families together to discover Hungary’s rich historical traditions in a fun and engaging way. Children will take centre stage throughout the day with a host of interactive experiences — from hussar training with wooden swords and military songs, to recruitment games, honour parades, folk dance workshops and puppet shows. Additional all-day activities include face painting, a crafts corner, pony petting, a baby-friendly area, and much more. Entry is free of charge, but registration is required in advance.
