Újbuda is a unique corner of the city – the only place in Budapest where 13 different nationalities live and thrive side by side. The Ark Festival celebrates this rich cultural mix, shining a spotlight on the Bulgarian, Roma, Greek, Croatian, Armenian, Polish, German, Romanian, Rusyn, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, and Ukrainian communities who call the district home.
Now in its third edition, the festival returns on Sunday, 15 June, with a full day of family activities, food, music, and crafts. Expect a lively line-up of folk dance houses on the Új Budai Open-Air Stage, while at the Feneketlen Lake stage, women’s choirs will hand over the mic to Hét Hat Club, followed by a performance from Söndörgő.
The programme is colourful, diverse, and entirely free – well worth taking a closer look!
