will take place at five venues:
Uránia National Film Theater, Örökmozgó, Toldi
Cinema

. This year Titanic will feature
52 works from 34 countries in 8 sections

Still Alice
will surely be one of the fan favorites. Eight films will compete for the
Breaking Waves Award
. This year’s films have been selected by a new program director,
Allan Sorensen
from Denmark.
The
22nd Titanic International Film Festival will kick off on April 10, 2015
, providing a comprehensive, versatile and high-quality selection of the most exciting pieces from the pool of contemporary international films over nine days. This year Titanic will present
52 films from 34 countries
in the Hungarian capital, among them new works by acclaimed filmmakers, debut films by new directors, and intriguing pieces showcasing the filmmaking of lesser-known regions, with several directors accompanying their works to the festival.
Certain films will only be screened in Hungary at Titanic, for example Japanese director
Hitoshi Matsumoto
’s latest film, the pleasantly bizarre
R100
, or the powerful
Still Alice
, for which
Julianne Moore
won the
Oscar
for Best Actress this year. Featured at lots of festivals and winning the Crystal Globe in Karlovy Vary, the Georgian movie
Corn Island
will premiere at Titanic as well – the film was shot by
Elemér Ragályi
and will be distributed by Mozinet, coming to Hungarian cinemas on May 14.
