MICHSA pop-up at NOS

If you're after some seriously cool Budapest-themed sweatshirts, head to NOS from 28 February to 1 March. The vintage and design shop is gearing up for a special pop-up with clothing brand MICHSA (pronounced 'MIK-shah'). They're absolutely on top of the sweatshirt game – offering designs that are not only stylish and sustainable but also tell the personal stories of Budapest's iconic neighbourhoods. Whether it's Józsefváros, II. János Pál pápa tér, Palotanegyed (Palace Quarter), or Újpalota, each piece makes for a brilliant gift or souvenir.

Sauna Session at Mandala Day Spa

How about treating yourself to a relaxing day spa experience for a Friday night plan? At Mandala Day Spa, you can join a special sauna session on 28 February and bid farewell to winter in style. With a sauna pass, you'll have access to both the bath and sauna, plus you'll get a sauna sheet for added comfort, too. You can even level up your experience with a glass of champagne and a 20-minute massage (in a massage chair).

Terra Kontra 3rd Bday w/ Janeret (FR)

The Terra Kontra collective has been part of the Hungarian underground scene since its foundation in 2022, with three festivals and countless club nights to its name. Known for their house-oriented, minimalist sound, they're constantly pushing the boundaries across genres – from breaks and deep tech to dub and ambient. Now, as they celebrate their third anniversary, perfectly timed with the last night of winter and the first night of spring, they're about to fill an entire boat. Imagine two rooms, a celebration that goes on all night, a lineup of local talent, and residents, and a long-awaited dream come true: Janeret!

StandOut'S comedy Open mic

A stand-up comedy night where the lineup is a mystery. And actually, you can also be part of it. What we know for sure is that it's not gonna be boring entertainment – at least that's a promise by the organisers. Just head to downtown Parabolic Lázárus Brewery, grab a beer, laugh with your friends or make new ones, and enjoy the show. Oh did we mention the event is free?

Light exhibitions

How about lighting up the last days of winter? Quite literally: this weekend is your last chance to catch some magical light exhibitions in and around Budapest. And trust us, they're fun for the whole family – with smurfs, princesses, and dinosaurs towering above you as you walk through glowing paths. At ELTE Botanical Gardens, you can explore the world of the Smurfs, while Margaret Island's Lumina Park transforms into a full-blown fairytale land. If you'd go for something more regal, hop on the HÉV train to Gödöllő Royal Palace, where you can wander the illuminated gardens and imagine Empress Elisabeth (Sissi) taking a moonlit walk.

Sparty – Grand Budapest Bath Party

Széchenyi Baths is one of Budapest's most popular thermal baths and one of Europe's best spas, so it's worth a visit any time of the year and day. But on Saturday nights it is getting some pizzazz. A party series called the Grand Budapest Bath Party (or Sparty), brings electronic dance music and a mind-blowing visual experience while you party in the pools.
