From 6th to 9th February, Budapest will host its biggest-ever classical and contemporary art fair. The Art and Antique Budapest 2025 will bring together 40 galleries showcasing thousands of artworks in the stylish Bálna, a real hub for culture, food, and shopping. Think everything from paintings and sculptures to exquisite furniture, sparkling jewellery, historic weapons, rare books, and stunning carpets – all available to buy.

Now in its seventh year, Art and Antique Budapest has firmly established itself as a key event on the Hungarian art calendar. It's where the nation's leading galleries unveil and offer their most exciting pieces. The fair aims to give serious collectors a comprehensive overview of the Hungarian art market, with works ranging from relatively affordable pieces to multi-million-euro masterpieces. This year's event, kicking off on 6th February at the Bálna, promises an even broader and more diverse selection than before.

From the beginning to the present day

The story of Art and Antique Budapest began a quarter of a century ago when Ádám Tausz launched the event series under the name Antik Enteriőr (Antique Interior). It has since become a vital meeting point for Hungarian galleries, artists, collectors, and anyone with an interest in art.

"The market was very different back in the '90s, but the core principle remains the same: we showcase the trends of the moment and bring breathtaking works of art to the public and the professionals. These classic and contemporary pieces delight the eye, tell fascinating stories, or offer a glimpse into the future of fine arts. We're proud that our culture-loving audience eagerly anticipates these four days each year, and that the industry regards Art and Antique as a benchmark," says Ádám Tausz, the main organiser.

This year's programme

This year's programme truly offers something for everyone. Whether you're passionate about paintings, sculptures, or installations, or perhaps your eye is drawn to beautiful jewellery, period furniture, antique carpets, rare books, ancient manuscripts, oriental treasures, or even historical weapons, you're sure to find something to capture your imagination.
