The passing of David Lynch, a true legend of cinema, has shaken movie lovers worldwide. Memorial events are popping up across the globe, and Budapest is no exception. On 31st January, Bem Cinema is hosting a secret screening – and all we know is that it's linked to Lynch. Whether he's the director, an actor, or simply the inspiration behind the film, well, you'll have to find out for yourself.

Czakó Farmers' Market with pelmeni

Nestled in the charming Buda Hills, Czakó Farmers' Market is the perfect spot to browse local producers' homemade and homegrown goods. You can kick off your tasting tour with a fresh coffee and a pastry, then dive into something heartier – like a plate of Russian meat dumpling, pelmeni.

MONYO 10th birthday bash

MONYO, a popular Hungarian craft brewery, is turning 10 this year – and they're celebrating in style. This Saturday, they'll throw a birthday party right where the magic happens: their Kőbánya-based brewery. Join the party, and your first pint's on them. Plus, you'll get access to two brand-new beer premieres. Radioactive Man (UK) – Metamorphosis surrealist mascarade

Electro star Keith Tenniswood, aka Radioactive Man, is landing in Budapest on 1 February, making it the perfect time to lose yourself in the city's nightlife. And it's not just about catching the British techno wizard in action – it's about stepping into a world of French surrealism, where lights, costumes, and masks set the scene. Tenniswood is marking the release of his sixth solo album, Jam Out the Kicks, with a fully immersive audiovisual show. And yes, you heard right – a full-blown masquerade ball is coming to life at 4K (Kőbányai Kortárs Kultúr Központ). So dress up, mask on, and get ready to transform.

Exhibition: Kingdom of Gods and Demons. Mesopotamia 1000-500 bce

This is the last weekend you can catch this intriguing exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts, so make sure to grab a ticket! You can immerse yourself in ancient Mesopotamia, all within the museum's stunning Ionic Hall. Featuring over 150 artefacts from seven major European collections – including the Louvre, Berlin's Vorderasiatisches Museum, and Vienna's Kunsthistorisches Museum – it offers a rare glimpse into this lost civilization. The exhibition focuses on the first half of the first millennium BC, a period marked by the rise of history's earliest empires: the Neo-Assyrian and Neo-Babylonian Empires, and is nothing short of mesmerising.

Tex-Mex Festival

Downtown Mexican restaurant Tereza is gearing up for a Tex-Mex fiesta – Tex referring to Texas, Mex to Mexico, the two combined bringing home the best flavours! Between 30 January and 2 February, you can savour a cavalcade of colourful dishes, fresh vegetables, and countless marinated meats. Its tradition preserves the recipes for delicious tortillas, mouthwatering sauces, and extraordinary spices. In addition to flavours, live music will also jazz up the mood.
