Creative Mornings Budapest

Creative Mornings is a global community that brings people together monthly for free andinspiring in-person talks. You can not only listen to creative people sharing their experiences but also connect with like-minded individuals. In August, you can explore the theme of ritual with Hungarian-born and London-based author and poet, Gabriella Kemény. She has a couple of published poetry books (the second one was the Winner of Book of the Year 2022 Hungary audience award in its category) and she is currently working on her first English collection. Plus, enjoy free coffee and pastries, thanks to amazing volunteers and local partners.

NOS Pop-up Fair

NOS is a charming vintage and design shop near Batthyány tér on the Buda side. While the team is currently on summer break, they are opening the doors for a pop-up sale. So if you're after adorable china or Hungarian designer goods, head to the store between August 1st and 3rd. While at it, you can pick up a coffee too.

Erik Sumo Concert

If you'd go where locals go, head to the laidback open-air venue Kertem this Saturday. Here, Erik Sumo will take the stage offering a special musical journey: the Hungarian band is playing World Disco which will make you dance instantly. Expect a blend of disco and techno elements and euphoric surf rock-downtempo tracks.

Lángos Day at Római part's Farmers' Market

If it’s  Saturday, it must be the  Római part  market!  Reaching the picturesque Római (Roman Embankment) might come with a bit of a journey from downtown Budapest, but when you start munching on a lángos (deep-fried flat bread traditionally topped with sour cream and chees) on the riverside, you'll forget the long ride. At 8 am,  shoppers start to rifle through fruits and veggies at the stalls, but you can also check out the colourful flowers in the back courtyard, and browse the handicrafts,  homemade jams andcordials.

The market is open every Saturday between 8 am - 1 pm.

Saturday Supper – Modern Anatolian Cuisine

In the heart of the Palace Quarter in Budapest's 8th district, The Garden Cafe, inside the Brody House, awaits with a secret garden and amazing Anatolian supper this Saturday (6 pm - 1 am). Book a table (by sending an email to access@brody.land) and you'll be in for a delicious feast featuring muhammara, hummus, borek, and many more! Pair them with Hungarian organic wine and enjoy the performance of sonic artist, Szabi, who is about to caress your ears with his mellifluous acoustic guitar strumming.

If you're after a unique rave party, look no further! The location of KamaRave's upcoming event is the historic [S1] Brewery complex of Antal Dreher, which now takes on a new meaning through concerts, performances, exhibitions, theatre and electronics, as well as space-specific installations.

Pop-up Second-hand Fair

If you like thrift shops, this event is for you! Near II. János Pál pápa tér in the 8th district (Nagy Fuvaros utca 12.), you can get your hands on second-hand treasure for small prices at a vibrant fair.

Fermented Drinks Workshop

If kombucha, ginger beer, and mead speak to your heart, sign up for this exciting workshop at Buda's cultural centre,MANYI. In the August 4th session, you'll delve into the whys and hows of these fascinating beverages, both in theory and practice. You'll get to taste various flavours of kombucha, mead, kvass, amazake (young sake), and ginger bug, also known as ginger beer. By the end, you'll take home a large bottle of your own kombucha and starter cultures of your favourite sampled drinks. Three things to note: the drinks include a small amount of alcohol, the price is HUF 6,000, and you need to bring 2 big jars with you.

Breakfast at Tiffany's at the Bem Cinema

If you are a lover of classic cinema, don't miss the screening of Breakfast at Tiffany's at Bem, a beloved repertory cinema. This 1961 film, starring Audrey Hepburn, will be shown in English with Hungarian subtitles.
