Thanks to the Crowne Plaza Budapest in the heart of the city, you don't have to worry about any of that but rather enjoy pre-set glam picnic spots to your heart’s content all summer on weekends (until September 8th). And did we mention that this is all on a serene green rooftop above the city?
What is a glam picnic?
Simply put, it means pretty and sophisticated pre-set picnic spots equipped with everything from blankets and comfy cushions to candles and flowers. At the Crowne Plaza Budapest, three thematic tents await in colours of elegant white, candy pink and baby blue.
All picnic spots are beautifully decorated and covered with a tent, but the best thing is that they all come with matching flower crowns, so you can fully immerse yourself in the glamorous vibes.
What makes enjoying breakfast and brunch on a rooftop above Budapest extra special is the green setting full of lush bushes and trees providing ample shade. It’s a lovely touch that the fruit that grows on these treats gets used in the breakfast selection. And let’s not forget about the pretty panorama over Budapest and the freshly renovated Nyugati Railway Station.
From breakfast favourites to the best Mimosas
When it comes to breakfast, you have two options. You can either opt for the buffet offerings including a rich selection of granola, pastries, cooked dishes, healthy bites, fresh fruit and more. Treats made from locally-sourced Hungarian produce and homemade jams and spreads also feature, and there’s also a special doughnut wall where you can pick the best looking round-shaped delight.
The drinks selection includes tea, coffee and fresh juices, but you can also mix up your own Mimosa or Bloody Mary just the way you like it.
If you’d rather go for table service, you can choose the á la carte option when you make a booking. The menu includes popular Hungarian and international classics, healthy bites and sweet treats. You can order dishes made from seasonal ingredients like Hungarian ratatouille, Eggs Benny, avocado toast or waffles with maple syrup and fresh fruit. If you opt for the á la carte service, you can still enjoy the buffet selection as well.
The pre-set picnic spots can be booked for 1.5 hours so that others can also enjoy this special experience, but you are welcome to stay until 1 pm and eat and drink inside or using the garden furniture. The experience is free for kids under 12, while children above 12 can enjoy a 50% discount. Only small dogs are allowed and they have to stay on the lead.
