In the category of Boutique and Luxury Hotels, four new Hungarian spots have made their way into the MICHELIN Guide, bringing the local selection to 25.

If you're planning a holiday, accommodation is one of the most crucial points. When in doubt, you can always rely on the good old MICHELIN Guide, which has already done the hard work for you by selecting the best hotels across the world.  We're talking over 5,000 accommodations, including 25 hotels in Hungary.

And not a single one is simply a room for the night. These are places that significantly add to your experience as a traveler, each vetted and judged excellent in five categories: architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, overall personality and character, value for the price, and a significant contribution to the guest experience in a particular setting.

What's more,  a new distinction was announced earlier this year: the MICHELIN Key.  It works the same way as the MICHELIN Stars for restaurants, serving as the trademark of the  crème de la crème of MICHELIN's selections. The Key will be awarded to hotels that excel in design, architecture, service and personality.

If you are travelling to Hungary, you'll find 25 exceptional accommodations in their guide – with four of them added in June. The recent additions are the luxurious Andrássy Kúria & Spa in Tarcal, the charming Platán Manor in Tata, the children's paradise Avalon Resort & Spa in Miskolc, and the panoramic Minaro Hotel Tokaj in Hungary's Northeastern wine region.
