On March 14th, one of Budapest’s best party places kicks off the spring season with free entry, extended opening hours and amazing daily discounts. After months of dreary weather, you can finally party under the stars, as the 1000-sqm courtyard transforms into a dancefloor, but great concerts, drink offers, and delicious street food will also make Doboz worthwhile to visit.

Doboz has been a reliable and fuss-free party place in downtown Budapest for over 12 years now, where everyone is welcome to have a good time and dance until dawn. The venue defines itself as a ‘deluxe ruin bar', which means it isn't as dilapidated and trashy as some other ruin bars in the party district, but it isn't too fancy either. It balances somewhere right in between.

'Stepping inside, you’ll find yourself in the inner courtyard of a classic old-style Budapest apartment building with crumbling walls, but what will first catch your eye is an enormous wooden gorilla with glowing red eyes hugging a towering tree – which happens to be one of the district’s oldest trees. This, complete with a red and dreamlike atmosphere, is what gives Doboz its unique ruin club charm' – so we wrote in a previous review

At night, this courtyard transforms into one of Budapest's largest dance floors hosting two simultaneous parties on its opposing sides. Popular Hungarian DJs spin disks here and all sorts of music plays from electronic to hip-hop, R'n'B, Latin music and the current hottest hits. Whether you’re looking to have a girls's night enjoying unlimited champagne this weekend, or just a fun night out with friends, Doboz is always a perfect choice.

Free entry five days a week and discounted drinks

Doboz kicks off the spring season on March 14th, and after that, will stay open five days a week (Tue-Sat) and entry will be free. If you arrive early, you can enjoy some delicious street food, but there’s no rush to leave, as Doboz keeps the party going until 6 am.

When it comes to drinks, Doboz has a discount up its sleeve for every day. Tuesdays are all about half-priced drinks, while on Wednesdays, a selection of long drinks goes for 990 HUF. On Thursdays, a pint costs only 500 HUF, while Friday is girls’ night, which means that the first 100 groups of girls get a free bottle of champagne. On Saturdays, you get two drinks for the price of one until 11 pm. Sounds good, right?

Arrive early if you want to eat before the party, as until 9 pm, all food is sold with a 50% discount. Think burgers, onion rings, chips and other street food. Booking a table is recommended, and if you’re a group of at least five people, you get a bottle of champagne for free.

What to expect from the spring opening weekend
