Budapest is turning 150 years old this autumn and has a surprise in store for 12 thousands sharp-eyed residents. If you own a Budapest address card – and are good at online shopping–, you will have the opportunity to enter historic baths on November 17th for less than a euro. Here is how.

If you live in Budapest and own an address card (a temporary works, too), you have good chances for an almost-free plunge into one of Budapest's historic pools. On the occasion of the city's 150th birthday (Budapest was founded in 1873 when 3 cities, Buda, Pest, and Óbuda were united), you can snag entrance tickets for all the baths for less than a euro (HUF 150).

Tickets can be purchased online starting from November 4th. You can buy 2 tickets (per person) to historic baths and 4 tickets (per person) to the rest, but bear in mind that all ticket owners need to be able to present a valid Budapest address card. Put a memo in your calendar as it will be on a 'first come, first served' basis.
