Things are always buzzing on Bartók Béla út, where you’ll not only find the best cafés, restaurants and galleries, but also plenty of cultural happenings. Over the weekend of 10-11 September, children will be taking over every corner of the B32 Gallery & Cultural Centre, inside and out, when the Újbuda Children’s Book Festival brings workshops, music shows, a circus playhouse, Papito the Clown, Réka Farkasházi & Tintanyúl, Kati Wolf and the Bori Rutkai Band, and much more beside for young and old. Of course, children’s book publishers will take centre stage, Pagony, Róka úr & Kompánia, Csimota, Napraforgó, Tea, Csirimojó and BOOK24, waiting for little bookworms with many new publications, classic favourites and market stalls.

On Saturday, everything starts with exciting workshops and music shows. Kids can make soft toys out of Trikó and Nyamm, two lovely dinosaurs born in the crayon era by popular story writer Judit Berg, and also create at Róka úr & Kompánia's craft session.

Music comes courtesy of the Csirimijó Publishing House and János Bárth literary children’s concert, How Animals Sleep, as well as Ottilia Dörner’s community-building session. There will be no rest during lunch either. The Simorág TánCirkusz holds a circus playhouse from noon.

On Saturday afternoon, music and dance hit the spotlight. Edina Lovászi and her band appear at 3pm, followed by a concert by Eszter Major & friends. From 6pm, Réka Farkasházi & Tintanyúl set well-known and lesser-known works of contemporary children’s poetry to music.

And if you get tired after dancing around, you can get involved in VISU’s slow design's ex libris and stamp-making workshop all afternoon.

On the day after the Book Festival, 11 September, Róka úr & Kompánia will be holding another craft session at 10am, then Papito, the street clown from Argentina, will suddenly appear. All kinds of things come out of his magic suitcase, which are then put into an interactive game in a bizarre, unusual way. Around the same time, VISU slow design will again be putting on their ex libris and stamp-making workshop.

In the afternoon, Kati Wolf’s children’s concert starts at 3pm before, at the end of the day, the ever bouncy Bori Rutkai Band take the stage.
