At the end of this month, from Friday 29 April, boats will start running again as part of Budapest’s public-transport network. The circular route operates between Petőfi Bridge and Margaret Island, the start and ends points being Vigadó tér in the city centre. Transport passes are valid for the service during the week, but those travelling at weekends must pay 1,500 forints like all other passengers. Boats will run every two hours, from noon to 8pm, Tuesdays to Sundays.

In a joint initiative between Budapest public-transport company BKK and local ferry operators MAHART, scheduled boats will again be making the round trip from central Vigadó tér to Margaret Island, down the Buda side to Petőfi Bridge and back along the Pest embankment.

The whole journey takes one hour 15 minutes, calling at Akadémia, Margaret Island Sportuszoda, Batthyány tér and back to Vigadó tér. A ticket (HUF 1,500) allows use of the service all day. BKK transport passes are valid on weekdays. Children under seven can also ride the boats for free.

Tickets can be purchased in person at Vigadó tér, otherwise passengers should pay on board. The timetable is available on this page (Hungarian-only).
