The burgeoning cultural quarter around Margit körút, on the Buda side of Margaret Bridge, is to get an extra boost following the news that 5,000 new plants will be bedded there, as well as a dozen trees.

Amid the new cafés and galleries recently opened in the Margit Quarter, more than 3,000 perennials and nearly 2,000 bulbs, plus a dozen trees, are being planted along the even-numbered side of Margit körút. The greening of this once drab area should further increase its allure as Budapest’s up-and-coming place to be.

In addition, an image guideline is planned for local owners to make the façades of their businesses more suited to the style of architecture.
