Romanian filmmaker Roxana Beloiu has just released a new video mainly taken by drone, showing the outstanding sights of Budapest in winter. Shot over four days in December, ‘BUDAPEST, 4k spectacular views’ takes in skating in City Park, the Christmas market on Vörösmarty tér and boats gliding down the Danube. Take a look!

Using modest equipment such as a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, a Dji Mini 2 and a GoPro, Romanian filmmaker Roxana Beloiu and her cameraman have created an engaging 40-minute video of our city in winter.

We are not professional movie makers and we don’t have sophisticated cameras,” said Roxana, “but because the city is amazing, we managed to create something that looks very professional. The drone helped as it gives the view over the city but sun was our enemy because it barely came up! We promised ourselves we would be back in summer when we will also have the chance to try out the baths which we had to skip this time”.

Driving all the way up from Bucharest, the pair still managed to take in plenty of sights and curiosities. A unicycling juggler entertains traffic by Heroes’ Square, a HÉV suburban train is all dressed up for Christmas and the sun’s rays catch the emotive waterfront installation, Shoes on the Danube Bank.

Of course, they visited the Christmas market, rewarding themselves with a warming cup of mulled wine every evening after a hard day’s filming.
