Founded nearly a century ago in 1925, Budapest’s University of Physical Education currently educates some 2,400 students in sports science. Known here by its Hungarian acronym of TE, the college has links with 22 Erasmus partners in 43 countries, and provides Hungary with many of its top coaches and leading sports administrators.
As well as its signature roof terrace, the new campus will also feature a 50-metre indoor pool, an indoor athletics hall, a gym, courts for ball games, a shooting range and accommodation for 400 students.
The architects at TSPC are adopting an environmentally conscious approach to the project, installing solar panels, a cooling cover and a system for rainwater collection.
