The fencing at Bethesda Children’s Hospital by City Park has been transformed into a row of books loved by little ones. The initiative coincides with Poetry Day celebrated this week. It was a collaboration between Móra Publishing and an artistic team of volunteers headed by Bertalan Babos, aka Zsili, best known for his design of Budapest’s famous ruin bars.

Colour and culture combine in an artistic initiative conceived by Móra Publishing and Bertalan Babos, better known as Zsili, otherwise responsible for the striking interiors of ruin bars such as Szatyor and Csendes.

The Bethesda Children’s Hospital, now fenced off by a row of books many young ones may recognise from their own collection, was happy to underline the importance of stories when most needed:

Good books for children

“We believe that a good book strengthens the soul of every child and not only distracts their attention during illness, but can even have healing powers. Working together is a force for life, especially when you put a little smile on a child’s face – especially during an epidemic!”
