In a sign that visitor numbers are on the up, the 100E bus serving Budapest Airport is now running more frequently and until later at night. If volumes continue to rise, Budapest Transport Company BKK has said it would increase services if demand requires.

As of this week, on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays, the 100E airport bus will be running every 15 minutes instead of 20 during the busiest hours between 9am and 6pm. The last service will also depart the airport at the later time of 1.05am on a daily basis.

The 100E shuttles between Budapest Airport and the transport hub in town, Deák Ferenc tér, also stopping at Kálvin tér on the way. It requires a special ticket costing 900 forints and takes around 30-40 minutes. See more information here.

During the pandemic lockdown, the service was stopped as visitor numbers had dwindled to a trickle. Its return was a sign that things were slowly getting back to normal.
