Kicking off this Saturday, the national holiday of 23 October, On Tompa brings together the many shops, restaurants and cafés on and off gentrifying Tompa utca in District IX to kickstart a series of lively cultural and culinary happenings.
Saturday’s event, A Tompán (‘On Tompa’), even has its own street-music festival, with 11 young bands playing at five locations. Afterwards, the audience can vote for their favourite.
After this weekend, look out for Halloween, St Martin’s Day, Advent and various charity events.
