Margit körút has long been in need of a little TLC and cultural input. In the autumn of 2020, the concept of the Margaret Quarter Cultural & Community District was agreed upon, a long-term, sustainable, cultural, civic and entrepreneurial community in the area, one that should develop independently.
Képező is a vital first step in this direction. A communal arts space, it functions as a workshop and gallery. The brainchild of Éva Bada, Boróka Pénzes and Beatrix Csiszár, it grew out of an educational programme dreamed up in 2018, whose aim was to teach children about the arts, connected with the history, literature and works of fine art of any given period.
Also unveiled with its opening this month has been an exhibition, Explorers 4.0, showcasing the works by 14 young artists.
Also planned are puppet shows about paintings, art-therapy sessions, creative talks and family-friendly presentations about contemporary art.
