There’s no doubt that if we want to protect our planet, we need to
develop a more sustainable lifestyle, which includes consuming fewer products
of animal origin. However, a vegan meal does not mean dull vegetable
and tofu dishes appearing on your dining table, but you can have a real
gastronomic adventure, too.
That way, you don’t have to give up burgers stuffed
with crispy bacon and melted cheddar, or fresh salmon sashimi, and it’s worth
giving vegan options a chance even if you don’t follow that particular diet.
Péter Balassa has often been to the Netherlands in recent years.
Sitting for the first time in a completely vegan restaurant there, he came
across reinvented dishes. Then he realised that this could be done at home as
well. If you’ve had vegan food, you’ve started with the basics.
Péter
founded his business, A Vegán, to launch
products that use ingredients made exclusively from natural ingredients to take
the vegan dining experience to the next level.
Currently, their most sought-after ingredients are Shrimpz tails, chicken wings, melted mozzarella and cheddar, vegan bacon, salmon and tuna. But you can find sauces that go well with different dishes among the products. Be it vegan sushi, fish & chips, tortilla, pizza and burgers, the perfect fish and meat substitutes can be found in many forms at various restaurants in Budapest.
Taste the difference?
"We also want to bring those who eat differently closer to a vegan
lifestyle. Seeing our food, they are encouraged to try new dishes, as there is
little difference between real and vegan food if it is well prepared,” says Péter,
about A Vegán’s aims.
The unique and innovative approach of A Vegán products was also recognised last year by animal welfare organisation PETA, and the A Vegán Notuna Sashimi and A Vegán Zalmon Sashimi won the Most Innovative Product prize in the fish substitute category at the Vegan Food Awards in Germany.
You can try A Vegán products at Vegan Love Downtown, Vega City, Fruccola, Vasmacska KávéZoo, I Love Sushi and Star Sushi, but soon its imaginative vegan ingredients will also appear in larger restaurant chains.
