If all goes well, the popular annual alternative-music gathering, the Kolorádó Festival, will take place between 11-14 August. Among the foreign acts, look out for acclaimed South-African indie singer Alice Phoebe Lou and South-East’s London’s own Shygirl.

This year’s acts at Kolorádó Festival 2021, pandemic willing, will feature a number of foreign performers, starting with South-African singer-songwriter Alice Phoebe Lou, whose third studio album Glow has just been released.

Featuring the single Dirty Mouth, her new record is ‘mostly love songs, sprinkled with punk/grunge numbers here and there’. According to the 27-year-old indie singer, ‘I dealt with falling in love, heartache and heartbreak,… I had to adapt and learn quickly. I shaved my head. Had an ego death. And started writing songs straight from the heart…’

Other acts lined up include South-East London hip-hop artist Shygirl, Hamburg techno DJ Helena Hauff, German/Korean disco DJ Hunee, electronic duo Giant Swan from Bristol and Australian broken-beat spinner Roza Terenzi.

More names are due to be announced. Advance passes can be purchased at a discount price of 18,900 forints until 25 April, after which it’s 21,900. Fingers crossed!
