Park landscaping around the Zugló section of the Rákos stream will soon be under way. In the first phase of the renovation, a new promenade will be installed for pedestrians and dog walkers. All tolled, some 100 trees and 10,000 shrubs will be planted across 2,000 square metres.
Once crystal clear and brimming with shellfish, Rákos stream in Zugló became a concrete-covered canal during industrialisation. Upcoming development is now aiming to restore near-natural conditions, adding benches, sun loungers and cycle racks.
A promenade for pedestrians and dog walkers between Egressy út and Mogyoródi út will be complemented by a new bike path – Rákos stream has long been a popular route for cyclists.
