A huge, futuristic glass whale, events hub Bálna Budapest has been special landmark on the waterfront since opening in 2013. Now the signature shell of this cultural, commercial and culinary centre, conceived by Dutch designer Kas Oosterhuis, is being renovated and provided with decorative lighting for this attractive waterfront building to appeal to visitors both day and night.

A tender has been issued for the modernisation of Bálna Budapest, which includes the renovation of its outer shell, the design of decorative lighting and sundry minor improvements. The shell should be made more water-tight, using more durable material, without altering the external appearance of the building.

The installation of chargers for electric cars, an overhaul of the technological system for parking and the renovation of the exhibition and events hall in Building III/B are also to be factored in.
