Cheap rides for kids on the Chairlift and Funicular all December

The Budapest Transport Company, BKK, has named December as Children’s Month, and to celebrate, they are offering significant discounts for the little ones to enjoy the 50-year old Zugliget Chairlift, and the 150-year old Funicular.

It’s good to be young. Beginning today, 1 December, children can go on both the Zugliget Chairlift and the Funicular for only 100 forints per ride! The offer extends until 31 December. The Zugliget Chairlift runs between 10am-3.30pm, and the Funicular – part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Castle District – operates between 10am-6pm.

What’s the age range? The chairlift considers a child anyone between the ages of 3-18 – it’s a bit more restricted on the funicular, however, where the cut-off is 14. For children under three, travel is free on both attractions.
