Four talented bands, Dalinda, Babra, Ötödik Évszak and Magos Együttes, will be taking the stage, joined by the giants of Hungarian world music, Parno Graszt, and Félix Lajkó and his band. Mónika Lakatos, winner of the WOMEX 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award, the first in the world to receive this honour among singers of Roma origin, will give a gala concert. Her new CD also debuts on the day of the show.
Alongside the concerts, panel discussions will also be broadcast online from Müpa. The official programme of the WOMEX digital conference includes five elements of Hungarian interest, such as on the future of education in folk music, a networking meeting on the situation of world music in the region, and the winners of the Creative music project.
Singer Veronika Harcsa will a member of the jazz panel, while a roundtable discussion between music-export agencies will be moderated by Balázs Weyer, programme director at Hangvető.
