‘Spooky Street 13’ is a great little animation short created by cartoonist István Lugosi of MOME, Budapest’s renowned university of art and design. Take a look!

A total of four people worked on the film, creating a unique mix of visuals, aided by the Budapest-based Million Workshop. Spooky Street 13 is about a group of monster kids going trick-or-treating for Halloween, only to be turned away everywhere.

They are beginning to lose hope when they reach a house where monsters just like them live and party, and they’re welcomed in as long-lost friends.

The message: everyone has their place in the world. “According to Dr Seuss,” say the authors, “we’re all a little weird, and life itself is a little weird, but when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with us, we fall into a new kind of communal place we call love”.
