The author of ‘Call Me by Your Name’, adapted into an Oscar-winning film, is to appear as a guest at Budapest’s Margó Literary Festival and Book Fair this October. The visit of writer and American literary professor André Aciman coincides with the Hungarian publication of the sequel to his award-winning novel.

Organisers of biannual literary festival Margó have invited André Aciman to appear as his book is the focus of the group’s reading circle. The festival takes place between 10-13 October at the Várkert Bazaar within the framework of the traditional autumn cultural shebang, CAFé Budapest.

With the sequel, Aciman has continued the story of Call Me by Your Name, in which an Italo-American boy, Elio, and an older scholar, Oliver, cross paths during a summer dalliance. Starring Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer, the 2017 film version of the original book garnered four Academy Award nominations. The screenplay adaption earned a first Oscar for veteran director and producer James Ivory.

Sequel Find Me finds the same characters several years later. The Hungarian version, Megtalallák, will be presented on 10 October, the same day that 68-year-old Aciman is due to appear.
