American Way, the in-flight magazine for American Airlines, has an interview with We Love Budapest editor-in-chief Regina Papp in its latest edition. Reaching more than 16 million readers every month, American Way currently focuses on Budapest in its series of urban profiles, Local Takes.

Nibbling on her favourite Hungarian pastry, a kakaós csiga, editor-in-chief of We Love Budapest Regina Papp showcases one of the city’s most atmospheric neighbourhoods, District XIII, in her contribution to the Local Takes feature in this month’s American Way.

Other interviewees include Müpa CEO Csaba Káel, stellar designer Sandra Sandor of Nanushka fame and on-trend sculptor Gábor Miklós Szőke, each talking about a specific area and aspect of Budapest.

Strolling around ‘up-and-coming Újlipótváros’, Regi describes its ‘laid-back sense of community’ and points out a number of in-the-know places such as the Fischer confectionery and the lángos stall at Lehel tér market. As she herself says, “The city has a natural, elusive feeling that cannot be embodied in a ruin bar or spa… many different atmospheres make up the whole city”.

American Airlines is the world’s biggest carrier, transporting more than half a million passengers every day and over 200,000 every year. This May it began direct flights between Budapest and Philadelphia, connecting with more than 50 cities across North America.

American Way has been published since 1966 and is issued every month.
