From today, trams on Budapest’s ever busy 4-6 line are running along the whole length of the route again, while the metro station at Kossuth Lajos tér near Parliament on red line 3 has just reopened. As schools are back today, making the city busier, metro line 4 and tram 2 will run more frequently, the green metro in the mornings and post-work period, the Danube-hugging tram on weekday afternoons and evenings.

During extensive renovations, instead of the classic yellow combino trams, replacement buses served most stations along the 4-6 route near the city centre all summer long. In another part of town, by Parliament, metro 2 did not stop at Kossuth Lajos tér for months due to construction works above ground. Fortunately, all renovations have now ended, and tram 4-6 and metro 2 are running according to their regular schedules on the full length of their routes. Tram line 1 is also fully operational once more. Other busy lines such as metro 4 and tram 2 now run more frequently on weekdays.

Meanwhile, another major transport route through the city, metro line 3, is still currently under renovation, with replacement buses operating on the whole line in the evenings and at weekends. Daytimes from Mondays to Fridays, the metro runs between Kőbánya Kispest and Lehel tér. Between Lehel tér and Újpest-központ, passengers must use replacement buses.
