Two treasure troves for vintage and contemporary urban fashion lie deep in Budapest’s historic Jewish District. Thanks to a comprehensive collection handpicked by founders Nóri and Roland, dressing head-to-toe in PSTR Store items is easy like Sunday morning. You can come here for printed tees, jeans by Cheap Monday and flamingo-shaped pendants every day of the week.

Instigated 14 years ago as a single outlet on Múzeum körút, the PSTR Store brand has since moved to bigger and better stores to offer their fashionable merchandise around the hippest parts of town. Not one, but two of the label’s shops are set within District VII, on Dohány utca and Rumbach Sebestyén utca, selling what’s considered a staple for urban wear: vintage, classy or casual styles. And, on 7 November at 8pm, shoppers can enjoy live jazz and meet the owners at the Dohány utca store as part of the brand’s 14th birthday celebrations. Also that week, 20% discounts will be offered on different labels each day.

Personally selected item-by-item, seasonal stock at this design outlet features a rich tapestry of apparels and accessories. Fine knitwear by the Danish Vila brand, cool-cut jeans by Levi’s, TOMS shoes and sporty-yet-stylish backpacks by the Canadian Herschel Supply all feature.

Owner Nóri’s heart is also set on accessories. Pendants in the form of a flamingo, one in the shape of a manicured hand and even a claw are on display in reconfigured crates mounted on the shop wall. The jewellery assortment, run under the Fux Shop brand, includes bangles, rings and earrings.

For the men’s collection, head to the bigger, Dohány utca outlet of the PSTR store, where design vintage items also come directly from Asia and California – all handpicked, of course.

Both shops feature a clean interior design with natural elements, such as plants a-plenty. But what makes the whole atmosphere complete are the unique assortment and the mix of customers who pop by for a browse or come here with a specific piece in mind.

As summed up by Nóri, “We want everyone to be bold when it comes to fashion and make the most of their style. That will add even more colour to our city.”
