New footage released by Will Smith shows the Hollywood star enjoying some behind-the-scenes fun at Budapest’s Opera House – and the panoramic view of the city from its rooftop. In Hungary to shoot a fantasy film by Taiwanese director Ang Lee, “Gemini Man”, Smith shared his horseplay with his millions of Youtube followers, at the gentle expense of his friend, Caribbean artist and designer, Scot Sardinha. Although he is no longer in the Hungarian capital, Smith left behind many memorable moments, including his daring scaling of the Chain Bridge that also attracted no little controversy.

Thrilled to be visiting Budapest’s venerable Opera House through the artists’ entrance, Will Smith then pokes gentle fun at the Hungarian-language version of his hit film Men In Black, before donning a hard hat to have a look around the gilded landmark while it is being renovated.

Licking the walls to make sure that they’re real velvet, Smith plays a trick on his Hungarian hosts, eventually emerging through a skylight for a jaw-dropping vista of Budapest cityscape, picking out the Basilica as an outstanding landmark.

Expressing relief that he wasn’t having to traipse around the roof of the Opera House in high heels, Smith plays on Scot Sardinha’s fear of heights to scare his friend and entertain the film crew.

Also as part of his visit, Smith posted footage of he and his family having fun in town on Father’s Day and, in a clip that spawned scores of imitators, of him climbing the Chain Bridge as part of a digital challenge. He managed to see Budapest’s current big-hitting exhibition by Frida Kahlo, releasing a short video of his visit.

The Will Smith film Gemini Man, partly filmed at Budapest’s Széchenyi Baths, is scheduled for release in October 2019.
