The Bloody Beetroots
A rare treat, TheBloody Beetroots are the vehicle for frantic punk frontman Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo, a DJ, producer and musician from Bassano del Grappa in northern Italy. Donning various masks of comic-book characters, Rifo has played major festivals in Paris, Berlin and New York. He comes to Budapest with new material, and the same adventurous attitude that has drawn the likes of the Chemical Brothers and Paul McCartney to work with him.

Die Antwoord
South-African hip hop comes to Budapest in the form of Die Antwoord, one of the most astonishing acts in the international dance scene. Ten years with the same line-up, ‘The Answer’ from Cape Town comprises a female singer with an exotic voice, Yolandi Visser, alongside rapper Ninja, and a DJ, god (previously DJ Hi-tek), usually in a strange mask for reasons unknown. What they create is a unique combination of hip hop, rave, eurodance and techno, with rap in Afrikaans.

Sons of Apollo
Around the beginning of 2017, rumours were swirling around the unhappy campers in US metal band Dream Theater. Sure enough, by August, Mike Portnoy and Derek Sherinian had upped and formed their own outfit, Sons Of Apollo, bringing in guitarist Ron Bumblefoot Thal (ex-Guns ‘n’ Roses), bass player Billy Sheehan (Mr Big, The Winery Dogs) and singer Jeff Scott Soto. Portnoy and Sherinian also produced the band’s debut album, Psychotic Symphony, and now Budapest has been included on the band’s world tour, between Warsaw and Atlanta.

Alborosie & the Shengen Clan
Sicilian rasta and multi-instrumentalist Alborosie left his native Italy to see fame and fortune in Jamaica. Producing solo studio and dub albums with abandon, Alborosie has worked with the likes of Ky-Mani Marley and is currently touring Europe. He remains the first Italian act to play Jamaica’s famed Sunsplash festival. For this show, he’s backed by legendary Jamaican combo The Skatalites, of ‘Guns of Navarone’ fame.

Áron András ‘Apey’
András Áron, aka ‘Apey’, is known for his work with Apey & the Pea, Trillion and Neck Sprain. For this show, powerful riffs combine with his softer melodies and expressive lyrics. Each song has its own story, as evidenced on his 2017 album HEX, his most personal to date.
