Known for beautifully bizarre settings and rowdy revelry stretching late into the night, Instant – one of Budapest’s most beloved ruin bars – will soon pack up its peculiar props to evacuate its dilapidated site and relocate to another building in Hungary’s capital. Anyone who ever rocked out amid Instant’s eye-catchingly crumbling setting on Nagymező Street will cherish memories from its current locale, and those who want to enjoy one last dance at this iconic ruin pub can let loose at the bar’s farewell fiesta on Wednesday night, which is enmeshed in a mystery – where will Instant move to?

UPDATE: On Wednesday, Instant has announced that they will be joining forces with the equally popular ruin pub Fogas Ház to create a mega music- and cultural center. Instant will move into the current location of Fogas Ház during March 14-18, and the two clubs will live in symbiosis hopefully happily ever after.Sited in one of downtown Budapest’s strikingly decaying buildings, Instant has been considered a go-to place for both locals and visitors in the Magyar metropolis ever since its opening eight years ago. Boasting enchanted vibes in the city’s bustling party scene, this beloved open-all-night Budapest ruin bar has always stood out from ordinary pubs found citywide – with its amalgam of colorful props hanging down from the ceiling (including an oversized white owl with its wings stretched out wide, herds of rabbits flying above the psychedelic central hall, and flower-patterned wallpaper covering the building’s crumbling walls), Instant provides a dreamlike experience for those who enter its surreal chambers, where revelers often twirl on the dance floor until sunrise.

However, an Instant era has come to an end, as the building that currently houses the creative ruin pub is set to be torn down, and this live-music hotspot will move (along with all of its high-spirited fixtures) to an as-yet-undisclosed locale. To conclude this prosperous period, many of the bar’s resident DJs and musicians join Instant’s staff on February 15th to throw a wild closing jamboree that anyone can join, if they are ready for unexpected activities. Besides a surprise musical lineup that will entertain guests throughout the night, anyone can be part of Instant’s history by posing during a final photo session happening at the Nagymező Street location; according to the organizers, these images will later be displayed at some of the world’s best clubs. Furthermore, guests can also take part in mannequin challenges after following specific instructions provided at the entrance.

Even though Instant management hasn’t yet revealed their next location, there are several abandoned buildings found in the city’s inner districts that could be suitable headquarters for madcap extravaganzas, including in District VII, known as Budapest’s main nightlife zone. Stay tuned to We Love Budapest for Instant updates, as we will feature complete details about their fresh facility as soon as we learn more about the mysterious move.
