Ever more business travelers and pleasure seekers will be flooding into Budapest with the opening of 17 new routes by major low-cost carrier Wizz Air in 2017 and 2018. New destinations Berlin, Bordeaux, Frankfurt, Agadir and St. Petersburg now bring the number of cities served from the company’s Budapest base to 67. To cope with the extra demand, Hungary’s major carrier has also just unveiled its biggest recruitment drive since the airline launched in 2004, and completed orders of 21 new Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft over the course of 2018.

From October 31st, Wizz Air will be flying twice a week to Agadir in southern Morocco while a daily service to Berlin Schönefeld, originally scheduled for March 2018, has been brought forward to one week before this Christmas.

At the same time, over the next 15 months until the end of 2018, Wizz Air will be setting up 400 enrollment sessions for pilots and cabin crew in 25 countries across Europe. The 1,300 newly created jobs will bring the total number of company employees to more than 4,500.

Sessions take place at Budapest’s Hotel Mercure Korona on October 7th and 26th, at the airline’s UK base in Luton on October 9th and 17th, and in Szeged, Vienna and Warsaw, among other cities.
